Last year I wrote about using Apple’s iBook Author in creative ways for your ministry. While I have yet to produce anything myself, I was pleased to come across an excellent example of what can be done in creating interactive books to preach the gospel. “Who Is Jesus?” fully uses the features available on today’s rich-color, touch-screen, immersive tablets like the iPad to make an immersive experience that would be impossible with a book — or even a traditional computer, for that matter. Here’s more about the book in the author’s own words:
Created by a team that includes Emmy-winning filmmakers, top Bible scholars, and an elite design firm, Who is Jesus? is a feast for the eyes, ears and mind. Most important, it answers the biggest questions of all time: Who is Jesus? What is his place in history? What is your connection to him?
In this interactive book, Jesus’ story comes alive through Bible passages taken from the New International Version Bible. It also includes numerous maps, timelines, photos and illustrations—plus more than 30 minutes of HD film segments from the award-winning Road to Emmaus.
“Who Is Jesus?” [$5.99 – iTunes link] would make an excellent gift for Easter or Confirmation — or for the pastor’s own iPad to share with others.
